Seven Days and Counting Pills

Well, we leave a week from today. Our flight out is at 7:00 am but luckily out of our small regional airport so we don't have to leave too far in advance of the flight.

Today we started taking our malaria medicine and also aspirin because of the long flights.

We've had to go through a number of innoculations, including all the hep stuff, taking typhoid cultures, and other misc shots and pills. Now we are starting the malaria medicine. We'll have to take it for a week before we leave, the entire time we are in Vietnam, and for a month after we return. So about 8 weeks.

The meds were a challenge for us, mostly because I did not have my hep vaccines and one of them takes around 5 months to complete. I was concerned that I would not have the chance to get the last shot before I left however due to the delay in our G&R I was able to swing it.

One of our dear friends who wanted to accompany us to Vietnam was unable to do so because she did not have time to have the hep shots and both the agency and the government health organization does not recommend going to Vietnam without them.

Our wonderful, earth-angel cousin, Carolyn, will be coming on the trip with us, God Bless Her! The agency strongly recommended we bring another person because two babies that have just been uprooted from everything they know can be just too much to handle for one set of parents. We are so thankful that she is putting her life on hold and joining us. Can you imagine that? See how unbelievably blessed we are?

More before we go!

Love Tina
